$$BeO $$ is almost insoluble in water due to high lattice energy. $$ BeSO_4 $$ is soluble in water due to high hydration energy of $$Be^{2+} $$ ion. The high hydration energy of $$Be^{2+} $$ in $$BeSO_4 $$ overcomes the lattice energy factors and therefore $$BeSO_4 $$ is soluble in water.
