Overall, very communicative! Descriptive understanding of academia offered, as well as a clear and coherent support system available to all students. Unbiased, legit, and trustworthy so overall I give them a 10/10

My experience as a full-time online student at UMGC while serving as an instructor in the Army has been both rewarding and challenging. UMGC's flexibility in scheduling and its robust online platform have allowed me to pursue my degree while fulfilling my military duties effectively. Being able to access coursework from anywhere at any time has been invaluable, and the asynchronous format has enabled me to balance my studies with my professional responsibilities seamlessly.
While UMGC provides strong support for military students, I believe there is room for improvement in recognizing military experience for academic credit. Specifically, I would like to see UMGC offer more credits based on military training and experience documented in the Joint Services Transcript (JST). By awarding credits for relevant courses based on this information, UMGC could facilitate a smoother path to graduation for military students.

I enjoyed my time at the university. However, receiving financial aid was a prominent issue throughout my undergraduate program. I received no merit based scholarships and my financial aid appeal paperwork was lost many times which lead to out of pocket expenses and debt. Communication was also a main issue, it seemed as if I had to advocate for myself every step of the way instead of collaborating with advisors who gave misinformation. Not sure where the funding goes if my estimated family contribution is much larger than my family's annual income.
