Vanitas, also known as The Masked Boy, is a major antagonist in the Kingdom Hearts franchise. He serves as one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Braig) of Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep and a supporting antagonist in Kingdom Hearts III.
Beneath his flippant attitude, Vanitas is a broken man who despises both humans and vampires, but hates himself more than either. Vanitas hates being vulnerable around people, refusing to go to sleep around anyone he doesn't trust. He likes high places and is often seen hanging around rooftops.
That honor goes to Naenia, a shadowy figure who, for reasons unknown, desires nothing more than to defile the true names of vampires. This boogeyman figure serves as the main antagonist in The Case Study of Vanitas.

Why Vanitas is so good?
It's a fun vampire story with quirky characters and a beautiful rendition of nineteenth century France. The blend of fun characters, emotional themes, and storybook style motifs reminded me of so many of my favourite anime series. The heart of the show is the relationship between Noe and Vanitas.
