Porsche's been putting four-wheel drive into 911s since 1989. AWD-Equipped Porsche Models

We were both in 443-hp Carrera S models, with Long in the rear-drive version while we trailed in a 4S, which uses the same AWD system as the base car.
All-wheel drive is standard, and shifts are handled by an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Porsche claims a zero-to-60-mph time of 2.6 seconds for the Turbo S, but at our test track it blasted to 60 in just 2.2 seconds.
Carrera. The Carrera name - taken from the famous Carrera Panamericana road race - has been used throughout the 911's history, but more recently it's come to refer to the 'standard' 911s. The current 911 Carrera is the base-spec 911, powered by a 385bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six.
To differentiate between the engine variants, the standard 911 Carrera 4 models feature one rectangular, single-tube tailpipe on each side, while the 4S models are fitted with a set of round twin-tailpipes on each side. The optional Sport Exhaust system distinguished by two oval tailpipes can be ordered for all models.

993 Turbo (1995–1997)
A Turbocharged version of the 993 was launched in 1995 and became the first standard production Porsche with twin turbochargers and the first 911 Turbo to be equipped with permanent all-wheel-drive (the homologated GT2 version based on the Turbo retained RWD).
